Dixie Darlene Norton Reasoner

Dixie Darlene Norton Reasoner, 64, a resident of rural Fredonia, near Buxton, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at her home. She was born October 16, 1947 in Webb City, Missouri, the daughter of William “Bill” and Martha (Robinson) Hicklin Sr. Dixie grew up and attended school in Altamont, Kansas.

Seventeen years ago, Dixie met Richard Reasoner and they began their life together. Richard survives at their home.

Dixie was a member of the Christian Church. She loved her cats, gardening and growing flowers, and would sit for hours watching birds, deer, turkeys and hummingbirds around her home. She also enjoyed her collection of bears and unicorns. Dixie also loved to cook and bake for her family.

Survivors, in addition to Richard include:

Three sons:

Richard Ray Reasoner of Altamont, KS

Rex Walter Reasoner of San Diego, CA

Roy Lee Reasoner of Cheney, KS

One brother:

William “Bill” Hicklin Jr. of San Antonio, TX

Thirteen grandchildren and three great granddaughters.

Her parents; son, Raymond Carl Reasoner; and daughter, Lesta Reasoner Sutherby preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Mt. Pleasant/Belleview Cemetery near Buxton, with Rev. Gene Benefiel of the Buxton Christian Church officiating.

Memorials have been established in Dixie’s name with the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and the American Cancer Society and donations can be sent to Timmons Funeral Home.
